Julia Kloetzke

October 20, 1909 — September 3, 2018

Julia Kloetzke, 108, of Fond du Lac, died Monday, September 3, 2018 at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home. She was born in Hungary on October 20, 1909, during the reign of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, to Alex and Julia (Pierce) Palkovich. Julia and her family immigrated to the United States, arriving October 6, 1912 via Ellis Island in New York City. On February 18, 1928, Julia married Arthur Kloetzke at Peace Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. He preceded her in death on April 16, 1983.



Julia enjoyed quilting and making pillows for her grandchildren. She loved to play Bingo and to gamble, taking bus trips to Oneida on a weekly basis. Julia was a cancer survivor, having been cancer free since 1997. She worked as a Punch Press Operator at Wells Mfg., and for 27 years, volunteered at both Broken Bread and Loaves and Fishes.



She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur; six children, Arthur Kloetzke, Donnie Kloetzke, Edward Kloetzke, Barbara Cox, Patricia Carder and John Kloetzke; two grandchildren, Chad and Kathy; two sons-in-law, Robert Carder and Marvin Cox; daughter-in-law, Dolores Kloetzke; and eleven siblings, Mary, Alex, Grace, Steve (Rosie), Andrew (Louise), Arthur, George (Alice), Raymond, Annie, Joe, and Frank (Gladys).



Survivors include seventeen grandchildren, Annie (Jerry) Resop, Donnie Kloetzke, Yvonne (Paul) Koll, Andrea (Michael) Schmitz, Patty (Jeffrey) Michels, Mike (Stacey) Cox, Marvin (Jackie) Cox, Billie (Candy) Cox, Tracy (Shelly) Cox, Reine (Rory) Schneider, Julie (Rodney) Hernandez, Tyrone Kloetzke, Reed Kloetzke, Denise (Tom) Dilling, James Kloetzke, Chris (Amy) Baganz and Cheryl (Chuck) Culver; thirty-three great-grandchildren; and fifty- three great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by two daughters-in-law, Lorna Kloetzke and Janice Kloetzke; a brother, David (Connie) Palkovich; and two sisters-in-law, Roseanna Palkovich and Dorothy Palkovich.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM, Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. in Fond du Lac. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM. Private burial in Lake View Memorial Park in Oshkosh will take place on Monday, September 10, 2018.
