Karl Peter Manowske

April 1, 1925 — December 6, 2007

Karl Peter Manowske, age 82, of N7776 Sandy Beach Road, Fond du Lac, loved as husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brought joy to all who knew him, died Thursday, December 06, 2007 at St. Agnes Hospital where he was surrounded by his wife and children. He was born on April 1, 1925 in Fond du Lac the son of Walter and Matilda (Johann) Manowske. On October 29, 1947 he married Bernice Hilbert at St. Louis Church, Fond du Lac. After graduating high school, Karl served in the United States Army during World War II. Following his service, he came back to Fond du Lac to work at Manowske-Becker Welding. He became owner of Manowske Welding in 1962. He was a former member of the Elks Lodge, was a member of the Trier-Puddy American Legion Post #75, the American Welding Society, and Fond du Lac Morning Rotary. Karl enjoyed being creative as a welder and would gladly go out of his way to service his many friends and customers. He enjoyed bowling, football, boating, and being around the lake with his family. Most of all Karl loved hockey and being around the Fond du Lac Blueline Club where everyone knew him as "The Bear". He was most remembered for his sense of humor which brought laughter to all who knew him.SURVIVORS: his wife, Bernice of Fond du Lac, five children, Richard (Deborah) Manowske of Madison, Rita (Charles) Cormack of Fond du Lac, James Manowske of Fond du Lac, John (Teri) Manowske of Fond du Lac, Peter (Lesley) Manowske of Fond du Lac, ten grandchildren, Anthony (Tanya) Manowske, Kristina (Dave) Rentmeister, Maureen (fiancé Danny Coyle) Manowske, Jesse (Sarah) Wuest, Christopher (close friend Kelli) Cormack, Leslie Cormack, Jamie Marie Manowske, Stephen James Manowske, James "J.J." Manowske, Morgan Manowske, four step grandchildren, Seth Perlman, Rachel Perlman, Nikki (Paul) Batchelder, Charlie Beau, five great-grandchildren, Tyler, Caleb, and Isaac Wuest, Jackson and Nicholas Rentmeister, and one step great-grandchild, Ethan Batchelder, two sisters, Gloria Anderson, and Shirley (Dick) Thompson, one brother, Stanley (Verdelle) Manowske. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one infant daughter.



VISITATION: Saturday, December 8, 2007 from 1:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. MEMORIAL SERVICE: Saturday, December 8, 2007 at 5:00 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home.
