Katharine L. Harrer

Katharine L. Harrer, 92, formerly of 259 Grand Court and a resident of the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home for the past 10 years, died there on Thursday, January 18, 2007. She was born August 31, 1914, in Fergus Falls, MN, the daughter of Carl and Selma Ahlman Schmidt. On June 29, 1940, she married Albert Harrer in Port Washington, WI. He preceded her in death in January of 1997.Katharine was a member of the Grand Avenue United Methodist Church of Port Washington, its' women's group, the Grafton Chorus, the Senior Chorus of Fond du Lac, and the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home Chorus. She was formerly employed as beautician and in the school lunch program in Port Washington. She lived a life full of laughter and music, and loved gardening and cardinals. Family and friends all remember wonderful times spent at her home in Port Washington.Surviving is a daughter, Judy (Bob) Reinke of North Fond du Lac, a son-in-law, Charlie Burnett of Fond du Lac, two granddaughters, Robin (John) Lemke of North Fond du Lac and Holly (Fiancé' Shawn Halfman) Burnett of Fond du Lac, a grandson, Steve (Sandie) Reinke of Fond du Lac, seven great-grandchildren, Ian, Sarah, Adrienne, Jack, McKayla, Hailey, and Samantha. Two sisters, Lillian Moelke of West Allis, and Lorraine Kemmere of Kenton, OH further survive her. Her parents, husband, a daughter, Nancy Burnett, an infant son, Eugene, a brother, Milton Schmidt, and two sisters, Marian Clark and Esther Comeau, preceded her in death.



Visitation for Katharine will be on Monday, January 22, 2007, from 3 to 5 pm at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home Chapel, 244 N. Macy Street, Fond du Lac. Funeral services will be at 5 pm on Monday at the chapel. The Rev. Dean Desilet will officiate. Cremation has taken place. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
