Kurt L. Rockweit

Kurt L. Rockweit, age 64 of Fond du Lac, died Saturday, August 20, 2016 at home after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Fond du Lac on May 13, 1952, son of Clifford and Bernita (Konen) Rockweit. Kurt attended Goodrich High School. He married Chris Braun at St. Peter Catholic Church on February 27, 1976. Kurt worked at Larsen Company for over 20 years as a forklift driver and St. Paul’s Cathedral for 10 years as a maintenance and groundskeeper. He retired in 2013.



Kurt loved being “papa” to his seven grandkids who always shared many hugs and kisses. He and Chris made many memories on their scenic trips while riding their Harley and he also enjoyed fishing for perch. He was an avid “Cubs” fan and he looked forward to frequent visits from his brothers Kent and Kim, always hoping to win big on their scratch-offs. Unknown to many, he was also a talented artist who enjoyed making copper artwork.



SURVIVORS include his wife, Chris; two daughters, Shauna (Mike) Zimmerman and Sheri (Tim) Krempien; seven grandchildren, Rachel, Eli, Kate and Nate Zimmerman, and Abby, Ryan and Nevie Krempien; two brothers, Kent and Kim (Mary); and sister, Kay (Dan) Salzman. Kurt was preceded in death by his parents; brother Keith; and his wife’s parents, Alphonse and LaVerne Braun.



In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Kurt’s name to the Cancer Center of Fond du Lac.



VISITATION for Kurt will be held at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM. FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at St. Peter Catholic Church on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 11:00 AM with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM and continuing until the time of service. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.
