Lawrence J. Langkau

Lawrence Joseph Langkau, 80, of Oakfield, passed away Friday, August 6, 2021 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born August 26, 1940 in Oshkosh, WI, the son of Lawrence Walter Langkau and Beatrice Ann (Robinson) Langkau. On February 1, 1964 he married Cheryl M. Cook in Oakfield.



Larry worked at Northern Aluminum Foundry in North Fond du Lac from 1963 – 1973. He worked 30 years for the Fond du Lac County Highway Department from 1973 until his retirement in 2003. He was a member of Holy Trinity Church in Waupun. Larry enjoyed his grandkids and great grand kids, riding his Harley working on all his classic cars, and his dogs.



He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; three children, Valerie (Pat) Hilbert of Fond du Lac, Lawrence Jeffrey (Dawn Wendt) Langkau of Oakfield, and Vickie Lynn (Jacob) Demoske of Lamartine; nine grandchildren, Carissa (Jeff) Spaulding, Megan (Neil) Johnson, Alec Langkau, Kaitlyn (George Vanderloop) Demoske, Jadon, Kaiya, Scarlet, Carter Demoske, and Brandon Mason; eleven great grandchildren, Ayden, Cayson, Alex, Alayna, Kaylin, Lily, Avery, Hailey, Rielynn, Lain, and Ensley. He is further survived by his siblings, Lois (Doug) Immel of Fond du Lac, Jean (Dick) Kunde of Berlin, Betty (Dave) Klahn of Fond du Lac, Mary Michaels of North Fond du Lac, and John Langkau of Van Dyne; brothers and sisters-in-law, Doug Immel, Gary Nimmer, Judy Cook, and Lori (Dan) Conroy; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Margie Nimmer; in-laws, L.V. and Marian Cook; brother-in-law, Bud Cook; and sister-in-law, Sandy Riechers.



The visitation will be held Thursday, August 12, 2021 from 3:00 – 7:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Avoca Cemetery in Oakfield at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 13, 2021.
