Lawrence R. Pitts

Lawrence R. Pitts, 79, of Fond du Lac, died Friday, May 8, 2015 at Hospice Home of Hope. He was born July 31, 1935 in Bloomer, WI, the son of Ralph G. and Mildred M. Waterhouse Pitts. On February 8, 1964 he married Karen A. Searl at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac. Lawrence worked for Mercury Marine for 35 years, retiring in 2000. He was a member of Immanuel Trinity Lutheran Church. Lawrence enjoyed woodworking, working on cars, fixing things, and loved telling jokes.



He is survived by his wife, Karen; three children, Wendy Schraufnagel of Fond du Lac, Larry (Tammy) Pitts of Eldorado, and Mike (Patty) Pitts of Fond du Lac; five grandchildren, Joe Pitts, Hayley Pitts, Nick Pitts, Grace Pitts, and Bayley Pitts; one great grandson, Raylan Raebuck. He is further survived by three brothers, Howard (Sharon) Pitts of Rice Lake, Kenny Pitts of Colfax, and Jerry (Tina) Pitts of Colfax; two sisters, Shirley Christianson of Colfax and Sharon (Gary) Postle of Bloomer; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Ralph Pitts.



The visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and again from 10:00 – 11:00 am on Wednesday at the church. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Immanuel Trinity Lutheran Church with Revs. Tom Meyer and Sue Sheffer-Meyer officiating. Burial will follow in Estabrooks Cemetery.
