Leona K. "Lee" Madritsch

March 21, 1922 — May 10, 2014

Leona K. "Lee" Madritsch, age 92, of Fond du Lac, died Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Hospice Home of Hope. She was born on March 21, 1922 in Pensaukee, WI, the daughter of Jesse L. and Dorothy M. (Sauter) Marcellus. On September 18, 1954 she married Jack R. Madritsch in Iowa City, Iowa. He preceded her in death on December 24, 2011. Leona's family moved to Iowa when she was a child, she lived there until marrying Jack. She then traveled the world as a military wife. They moved back to Wisconsin in 1967. In 1990 they retired to Grand Island, Fl, returning to Wisconsin in 2007. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church. Leona loved sewing, especially making quilts for her family. She personalized every sewn gift she made. She was very computer savvy, she was self taught on the computer and stayed in contact with many friends via email.SURVIVORS: two children, Gary (fiancé Joy King) Madritsch of Fond du Lac; Kathryn (Gary) Chitwood of LeRoy; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Nathan) Anfinson of Hustisford, Melissa (Jeff) Gassner of Fond du Lac, Cassandra (Justin Latter) Chitwood of Allenton, and Nicholas Madritsch of Sun Prairie, five great-grandchildren, Adalynn, Wesley, Greyson, Wyatt, and Miles; one brother in law, Kenny (June) Madritsch of Milwaukee, former daughter in law, Kathy Madritsch of Fond du Lac. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters, and four brothers.



VISITATION: Thursday, May 15, 2014 from 4-7 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. FUNERAL SERVICE: Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home with the Reverend John Fuchs officiating. Entombment will take place on Friday, May 16, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield.Special thanks to Agnesian Hospice home nurses, Hospice Home of Hope, and the staff at St. Agnes Hospital for their care and compassion.Additional information and guestbook can be found at www.ueckerwitt.com
