Linda Mae Bothe

November 30, 1937 — September 4, 2014

Linda Mae Bothe died on Sept. 4, 2014 at her home in Brisas de Chapala, Mexico at the age of 76. Linda was born in Milwaukee on November 30, 1937. After graduating from Mary D. Bradford High School in Kenosha, she attended nursing school in Oak Park, Illinois.

In 1956, Linda moved to Mt. Calvary, Wisconsin, with her family. Around this time she met the man that would become her husband, Ron Bothe (Harvey), a local radio personality and leader of the Ron Harvey Orchestra. They were happily married for over 40 years, and had one child, Bill Bothe. Ron preceded her in death on August 16, 1998.

Over her working years Linda applied her knowledge, creativity and talents in many areas including working in the fields of interior and kitchen design, as a KFIZ radio talk show host, and as the marketing director for Star Cablevision of Wisconsin. She would eventually be the project leader for a joint venture between Star Cablevision and Jones Communications, missioned with starting a cable television company in Mexico City, Mexico. Prior to retiring in 2003, Linda worked for the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home in Fond du Lac.

Linda met Chuck Balnis on March 19, 2005, and just over two years later Linda and Chuck relocated to their paradise in Lake Chapala, Mexico, where they enjoyed seven glorious years together. Linda was a fun spirited and caring person who loved life. She was admired and loved by so many for her positive attitude and effervescent personality—a friend an inspiration to all who knew her. Rain or shine, as in sickness and health, she greeted every day with a positive remark and attitude.

She loved spending time with her friends and loved ones, including her son Bill, daughter-in-law, Betsy, and granddaughter, Paisley (all in Park City, Utah). She is survived by her life partner, Chuck Balnis (Lake Chapala, MX), and her sister, Diane (Jim) Hausinger (Fond du Lac), and three brothers, Bill (Patsy) Mowery, Frank (Dawn) Mowery and Don Mowery and also her loyal dogs Chas, Ally, Bo and Rambo and many nieces and nephews. She will be forever missed.
