Lyle A. Tabbert

LYLE A. TABBERTLyle A. Tabbert, 81 of the Town of Eldorado, went home to Heaven to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 28, 2006 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born on April 8, 1925 in Eldorado the son of Jesse and Laura Draves Tabbert. On June 12,1948 he married Eunice Pfeiffer at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Eldorado. He attended Box Elder Line Grade School, Rosendale Union Free High School and Winnebago Lutheran Academy. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in June 1944. He served on the USS Block Island II an escort carrier in the Pacific Fleet. Lyle and Eunice farmed in Eldorado for 58 years. Lyle owned and operated the Tabbert Insurance Agency in Rosendale, WI for 40 years. He was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Eldorado and was a former member of St. Paul's Evangelical Church, North Fond du Lac. He was a life-long member of USS Block Island Association, Eagle River VFW Post No.8637, charter member of the Eldorado Lions Club, charter member and past commander of the Rosendale VFW, member of the Eldorado Fire Department, a charter member of the Wisconsin Waterfowlers Association of Fond du Lac. Lyle will be dearly missed by his family many relatives and friends. He will be remembered for his beautiful garden and yard. He enjoyed many wonderful years at his cottage in Three Lakes, WI. Lyle enjoyed many happy times fishing, hunting, bowling, card playing, camping. He was proud to have served his country and was a very patriotic citizen.SURVIVORS:His wife Eunice,six children, Sharon (Cary) Eilertson, Kathleen (Rueben) Ruch, Nancy Rudey, William (Kay) Tabbert, all of Eldorado, Gregory (Debby) Tabbert, and Beth (John) Hettwer both of Fond du Lac, twelve grandchildren, Colleen (Anthony) Tasch of Denmark, WI, Curtis (Jennifer) Eilertson of Big Bend, WI, Derek (Heidi) Eilertson of Janesville,WI , Heidi (Ryan) Kohlmetz of Appleton, WI, Heather (Louis) Vadala of Appleton ,WI Benjamin (Teresa) Ruch of Waupun, Theodore (fiancé Stephanie Ziegler) Ruch of Eldorado, Petty Officer 1st Class Adam (Paige) Tabbert (currently deployed in the Persian Gulf on the USS James E. Williams DDG-95) of Yorktown, VA, Nicholas Tabbert of Eldorado, Jessica Tabbert of Fond du Lac, Calvin Hettwer of Fond du Lac, and Laura Hettwer of Fond du Lac, great-grandchildren, Olivia Tasch, Elizabeth and Emma Eilertson, Megan, Macy, and Jared Kohlmetz, Matthew and Sophia Vadala, Brady and Charlie Ruch, expecting two great grandchildren in 2007, brother in law, Quentin Davies, Madison , sister in law, Carol Perkins, Fond du Lac ,brother and sister in law Donna and Roger Jones, Barron, WI, special dog, "Cookie", and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, son in law, Robert Rudey, brother, Norman Tabbert, sister, Verona Davies, sister in law, Delores Tabbert-Simon, brother in law, Robert Perkins.



VISITATION: Sunday, October 1, 2006 from 3-8 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. FUNERAL: Monday, October 2, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Eldorado with the Reverend Aaron Odya officiating. Burial will follow at Rosendale Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday at the church form 9:30 A.M. until the time of services. Trier-Puddy American Legion Post No.75 will conduct military graveside services. Memorials appreciated to St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Eldorado or Winnebago Lutheran Academy. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
