Lyle W. Huth, Sr.

July 16, 1921 — April 3, 2016

On Sunday, April 3, 2016 the Lord called Lyle W. Huth, Sr. to his final resting place. He was at home and surrounded by his family. He was born July 16, 1921, the son of Walter and Bertha (Rosenbaum) Huth. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in November of 1942 serving in the European Theater of Operations (ETO) during the Second World War. Achieving the rank of Corporal, Lyle received an honorable discharge in January of 1946.



After returning from serving his country he opened several Huth Standard Service Stations. In 1962 he began his employment with Giddings & Lewis. He was a Field Service Technician for 23 ½ years until his retirement.



On August 13, 1949 he married Dorothy (Heaney) Bauman. Lyle is survived by their 8 children, Ruth (John) DuFrane of North Fond du Lac (NFDL), Sandie Pieper of Sierra Vista, Ariz., Ron Bauman of Eau Claire, Bonnie (Earl) Davies of NFDL, Carol Grainger of Fond du Lac, Barbara (Joel) Blitzke of Glendale, Ariz., Betty (Tom) Siewert of Fond du Lac and Lyle, Jr. (Kathy) of Fond du Lac. He is further survived by 23 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren. Lyle was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy; and a brother, Clifford Huth of Fond du Lac.



He loved baseball (Brewers & Braves), fishing and especially his family and grandchildren.



VISITATION for Lyle will be held Thursday, April 7, 2016 from 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac. FUNERAL service will begin at 11:30 AM with Pastor Matthew Guse officiating. Burial will follow in Rienzi Cemetery with military honors presented by the American Legion, Trier Puddy Post #75.



The family of Lyle Huth, Sr. would like to thank the Agnesian Hospice West Nurses for the compassion and care they gave to Lyle and his family in his final days. We would especially like to thank his Hospice Case Worker, RN Julie Van Vleet, for her special kindness and compassion. They really are “Angels on Earth”.



In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Agnesian Hospice Hope.
