Marie E. Jones

Marie E. Jones, age 90, of Fond du Lac, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2014 at Grancare Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on April 13, 1924 at the family farm in Byron, the daughter of Albert and Josephine (Kiefer) Scharf. On November 7, 1942 she married Noel W. Jones in Wayland, MI. He preceded her in death on March 23, 1988.



Marie worked for Infant Socks and then for Wells Manufacturing. Marie enjoyed bringing her friends to Dick and Muriel’s cabin in the woods. She enjoyed raising Labs with her son Wally. She helped her daughter, Sharon with her business for over twenty years and enjoyed going to Sharon and Mike’s lake home. Marie worked hard all her life and took care of her family and was always there for everyone. She enjoyed gardening, deer hunting, boating, snowmobiling and she water skied until the age of sixty-five.



She is survived by four children, Richard (Muriel) Jones of Fond du Lac, Walter Jones of Fond du Lac, Bonnie (Carl “Johnny”) Irving of Fond du Lac, Sharon (Mike Ottery) Jones of Fond du Lac; son-in-law, John (Carolyn) Broennimann; nine grandchildren, Lori (Kevin) McCrory, Jim (Suzette) Broennimann, David Broennimann, Joe (Kym) Broennimann, Lisa Becker, Amy (Scott) Schmidt, Tracy (Steve) McDermott, Jackie Hanewall, Cassie (Brian) Rosenmeier; twelve great-grandchildren, Shane, Victoria, Morgan, Mason, Hollis, Kourtney, Eli, Sawyer, Lola, Madylynn, Jonah, and Emily; three sisters-in-law, Eleanor Jones, Pat Scharf, and Connie Scharf; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Noel; two children, infant Joseph and Donna Broennimann; son-in-law, Donald Martin; eight siblings, Alfred, Donald, David, Sylvester, Franklin, Monica, Rosemary, and James; brother and sister-in-law, John Jones and Jean (Jerry) Nordstrom; special friends, Jim, Harold and Carly.



The visitation will take place Saturday, July 12, 2014 from 9:00 - 10:30 am at Holy Family Church-Holy Family Parish, 271 4th St. Way, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 10:30 am at Holy Family Church-Holy Family Parish. Entombment will take place at Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery.
