Mary Ann Goebel

Mary Ann Goebel, 76, of Fond du Lac, entered into Eternal Life, Sunday, March 10, 2013 at St. Agnes Hospital. She was born May 29, 1936 in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Herman and Alma Laudoff Hermanns. On December 27, 1955 she married Eugene "Gene" Goebel in St. Peter and he preceded her in death on August 17, 2004. Mary Ann was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg. Mary Ann worked as the head waitress at Petrie's Restaurant, was the owner of Mary Ann's Place in Johnsburg from 1967 "“ 1974 and then worked for Bremer Manufacturing in St. Anna until retirement in 1998. She was a member of St. John's Altar Society and the Dotyville and Pipe Senior Centers. Mary Ann enjoyed playing dominoes, bingo, cards, cooking, entertaining and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.She is survived by her children, Mark (Kerri) Goebel, Little Chute, Katie (Ken) Andrew, Johnsburg, Doug (Jan) Goebel, New Holstein, Sheila (Craig) Lefeber, Johnsburg, B.J. (Jodie) Goebel, Johnsburg; one brother, Fr. Mel Hermanns, O.F.M. Capuchin, Appleton; fourteen grandchildren, Stephanie (Terry) Albrecht, Josh Casper, Shaun (Amy) Andrew, Jill (Kip) Steffen, Chelsea and Ryan Goebel, Tyler, Becki and Kollin Lefeber, Mitchell, Erin, Joey and Paige Goebel; four great grandchildren, Reyse, Brody and Beckham Steffen, Camden Andrew. She is further survived by her partner, Larry Merten and his children, Ann Schmitz, Johnsburg, Allan (Rosie) Merten, Fond du Lac, Alice Merten, Sheboygan Falls, Audrey Merten, Fond du Lac, Arlene (Jeff) Mand, St. Peter, Arlyn Merten, Johnsburg; brothers and sisters-in-law, Faith Hermanns, Rosie Hermanns, Alice Braatz, Lorraine Flood, Bernadette Blatz, Shirley Goebel, Tony (Joyce) Goebel, Jim (Mary Ann) Goebel, Pat Dietzen, Tom Scannell; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her father and mother-in-law, Anton and Odella Goebel; her husband, Gene; one grandson, Zachary Goebel; three brothers, Joseph Hermanns, Francis Hermanns, Peter Hermanns; one sister, Thresea Hermanns; brothers and sisters-in-law, Marcella "Sis" Scannell, Marge (Stan) Johanski, John "Bud" Goebel, Edward Braatz, Herbie Dietzen, Tom Flood, Jerry Blatz.



The visitation will take place from 2:00 "“ 8:00 PM on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and again on Friday from 9:00 "“ 10:00 AM at the funeral home. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 15, 2013 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Johnsburg. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established in Mary Ann's name. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
