Mary C. Kraus

Mary C. Kraus, 94, of St. Peter (Malone) passed peacefully on Saturday, August 27th, 2022, at SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital. Mary was born in St. Cloud, Wisconsin on January 27, 1928, to Nick and Anna (Theobald) Goeser. She married Edmund (Eddie) E. Kraus (John and Elizabeth) on April 26, 1949, at St. Cloud Church, St. Cloud, Wisconsin. Eddie preceded her in death on November 16, 2002.



Mary grew up on a farm in rural Greenbush and attended St. Cloud parochial school. After marriage, she and her husband resided in St. Peter. A member of Holy Family-St. Peter parish, she was devout in her faith and active in the St. Peter Altar Society. Mary and Eddie spent many hours at the church, volunteering and assisting with maintenance, as well as giving support to their family and neighbors when help was needed. Mary enjoyed creating a beautiful space in her home and yard and took great care and delight with her plants and garden.



Survivors include one sister, Genevieve (Gerald) Wagner of St. Peter; brother-in-law Martin and Jane Kraus, sisters-in-law Lorraine Kraus, and Lillian (Bruno) Wagner Kraus.



Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Eddie; three sisters Johanna (Andrew) Freund, Germaine (Leander) Braun and Elizabeth (Wilbert) Wagner; one brother Othmar (Alice) Goeser; sister-in-law Esther (Lyle) Pitzen and Esther's second husband, Melvin Halbach; brothers-in-law Leander Kraus, Gregory (Catherine) Kraus, Bruno and Elvira Kraus.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at Holy Family Parish-St. Peter Catholic Church, St. Peter. Entombment is at the Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery.
