Mary Louise "Mary Lou" Trexell

July 5, 1925 — February 13, 2007

Mary Louise "Mary Lou" Trexell, age 81, of 235 Winnebago St, North Fond du Lac, died Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at St. Agnes Hospital. She was born on July 5, 1925 in Michigan the daughter of Jay and Laura Bordner. Mary Lou graduated from High School in Battle Creek, MI. In 1949 she moved to Fond du Lac to work in her parents restaurant "Bordners Restaurant" in Taycheedah. She met and married Merrill L. Trexell in 1953. Merrill was in the Navy and Air Force, which brought about many moves as their family grew to such places as the Philippines, England, Florida, Missouri, Maine, Michigan, and Illinois. The family settled in Fond du Lac in 1973 and purchased Bordner's Restaurant in 1975. She was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist. Mary Lou always wanted to have a lot of children and loved being a mother. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and cooking. She was a strong, loving woman who dealt with life's challenges with a wonderful sense of humor. Her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and cat "Sweetie" were the focal points of her life and she truly enjoyed her time visiting with her friends at Heather Meadows. To show her sense of humor-just before she passed, she said the only regret she had was that she wouldn't get to see the "Ugly Betty" television show anymore. Mary Lou will be dearly missed.
