Owen B. Beck

Owen B. Beck, 87 of Oakfield, died Monday, September 5, 2016 at The Meadows in Fond du Lac with family by his side. He was born in the Town of Ashford on July 12, 1929, a son of Alois and Erna (Karstaedt) Beck. On June 12, 1951 he married Lillian Nett at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marytown, Wis.



Owen was a dairy farmer along with his wife until his retirement in the Township of Oakfield. In addition, he was an avid hunter, fisherman and card player. Owen loved Canada for the fishing it offered and South Dakota for the excellent pheasant hunting. He was active in the Oakfield community, having served as both the town supervisor and its chairman. Lastly, Owen was a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society.



SURVIVORS include his wife, Lillian; three children, Sherri (Michael) Kelley of DePere, Ronald (Joyce) of Oakfield and Brenda (Cory) Towne of Eldorado; four grandchildren, Benjamin, Dustin (Miranda), Alyssa and Mitchell; two great-grandchildren, Collin and Logan; three sisters, Patricia Stucke, Gladys (Mike) Buerger and Jeanette (Stan) Joas; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Beck and Rose Birschbach; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Jerome, Vincent and Walter; two sisters, Marguerite and Ruth; five brothers-in-law, Ralph Stucke, Donald Nett, Jerome Nett, Eugene Birschbach and Roger Karls; two sisters-in-law, Lyla Karls and Florence Nett; nephew, Blaine Buerger; and niece, Judy Karls.



VISITATION for Owen will be held Thursday, September 8, 2016 from 4:00 PM – 7:30 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. in Fond du Lac. FUNERAL SERVICE will begin at 7:30 PM. Cremation will follow the services with private family burial in the Town of Ashford Cemetery.



The family would like to thank the entire staff at The Meadows, Agnesian Home HealthCare and Heartland Hospice. And lastly, a special thanks to Dr. Mary Kelm for her expertise and honesty in her care of Owen.
