Patricia Ann Klebs

November 26, 1928 — November 10, 2015

Patricia Ann Klebs, known to family and friends as ‘Pat’ and ‘Granny’, passed peacefully on Tuesday morning, November 10, 2015 at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home. Granny would have been 87 on Thanksgiving Day. Pat was born November 26, 1928 to Claude and Marcia Mathwig Jones.

She lived at Northgate Senior Apartments in North Fond du Lac for the past several years. There, she particularly enjoyed joining her many friends for community activities and ladies pot lucks. Mondays were her dedicated cards night. Until her health failed her, Pat was a member of AmVets Women’s Auxillary of North Fond du Lac, serving as the unit secretary and she graciously served as a member of Church of Peace Ladies Aid.

During her younger years of homemaking, Pat was a well known Tupperware Dealer. Her children giggle over memories of taking turns riding along in that fully packed station wagon as she delivered orders to the far reaches of the county.

Pat went on to become a Licensed Practical Nurse, earning her associate degree from Moraine Park Technical College in 1971. She worked at Mercury Marine, ARC, Caregivers, Lutheran Home and Rolling Meadows from where she retired. During her nursing career, Pat had a knack for making a place at her family’s Thanksgiving table each year for individuals who had no place to go. In keeping with a nursing tradition, Granny was honored to present granddaughter, Sadie, at her pinning ceremony upon graduation from UW Milwaukee Nursing School in 2004.

Pat loved indoor roller skating, flower gardening, reading, and all types of needlework. She was a talented artist as well in the areas of drawing, painting and ceramics (so that’s where Megan and Brooklyn got it from!).

In recent years, Granny especially enjoyed time with family. Some of her special joys were road trips to family get togethers, keeping cards, letters and trinkets from all, and her annual tree decorating event (thank you AJ, Melissa and Megan!).

Granny is survived by her seven children, Sue (Al) Ruples, Karen (Art) York, Ron (Joy) Klebs, Don Klebs, Carol (John) Schaefer, Allan (Marie) Klebs, and Sandi Doering; 18 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren. She had an endearing love for everyone with a special fondness for Marie and for John who always answered her special requests without hesitation. She is also survived by her brothers, Junior and Gerry and one sister, Marilyn. Pat was preceded in death by her parents; her former husband, Edmund (1927 – 1974); two sisters and one brother. Other extended family and special friend Francis Roberts also went before her.

Pat was happy with her brief new home at the Lutheran Home. Her family is most thankful for the kindness, support and care provided by all the staff there.

The visitation will be held from 11:30 am – 2:30 pm on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home.
