Paul Potratz

October 31, 1925 — December 17, 2006

Paul Potratz, Jr., 81, of 369 Salem Avenue, Fond du Lac, died Sunday, December 17, 2006 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born the son of Paul H. and Mildred L. (Zoellner) Potratz, Sr. on October 31, 1925 in Fond du Lac. He graduated from Goodrich High School with the Class of 1943. Paul served in WWII as a paratrooper with the 11th Airborne Division and was stationed in Yomagoto, Japan. On July 24, 1948 he married Ruth P. Fenner at Salem Methodist Church, Fond du Lac. Paul started working at Kiekhaefer Areo Marine in 1948 as a machinist and retired from Mercury Marine after 42 years. He was a member of the 1947 Machinist Union, the American Legion and Salem United Methodist Church. He enjoyed woodworking and cars.SURVIVORS: his wife, Ruth; one daughter, Mary Ann Potratz, Fond du Lac; two sons, John W. and Conni Potratz, Mark P. and Carol Potratz, all of Fond du Lac; six grandchildren, Angela and Andrew Roloff, Oshkosh, Jennifer Potratz, Fond du Lac, Jacqueline and Christopher Haase, Jefferson, Paul W. Potratz, Fond du Lac, Seth Potratz, Madison, Bethany and Mark Nier, Fond du Lac; three great-grandchildren, Averi and Carter Roloff and Norah Haase; and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.



VISITATION: will be from 4-8 PM today, Monday, December 18, 2006 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Monday at 8PM at the funeral home with Rev. Donald Fenner and Rev. David Byers-Dent officiating. Private family burial will be held at Estabrooks Cemetery.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
