Raymond M. "Ray" Hinz

Raymond "Ray" M. Hinz, 87 of Fond du Lac, died Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at St. Francis Home. He was born on February 16, 1926 on a farm near Merrill, WI the son of Emil and Elizabeth Murray Hinz. On May 12, 1956 he married Carol L. Bindert at Church of Our Saviour Evangelical Lutheran, Fond du Lac. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Air Corps from June 1944 to June 1946, B-29 air crew member. Ray was employed as a route man for Mrs. Karl's Bakery for 25 years and was a member of the Teamsters Union #200. He later worked in maintenance for Marine Credit Union and Prange Way He was a very active member of Church of Our Saviour Evangelical in Fond du Lac. Ray served on church council, taught Sunday school and on various committees in the church. He was also a member of Bread of The World, and the Estabrooks Cemetery Board for 10 years. He was on Silver "M" Club of Merrill and played football with the Merrill Foxes of the Wisconsin State League for 6 years. Ray volunteered with the Fondy Food Pantry, Loaves & Fishes, Broken Bread, Habitat for Humanity, Salvation Army at various times.SURVIVORS: Ray is survived by his wife, Carol Hinz, Fond du Lac, one son Kevin Hinz, Appleton, one daughter Christine (Tim) Engel, Adams, WI, three grandsons, Daniel, Franklin and Thomas Engel and a granddaughter Shelly Engel, one sister Viola Wendlend, Irma, WI, andone brother-in-law Clarence "Dutch" (Shirley) Bindert, Fond du Lac. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother Wilbur and a brother "“in-laws, Alfred Wendland, Elswood, Francis Bindert, Kenneth Bindert, and two sister-in-laws Lila Novak and Leona Bindert.



VISITATION: Friends may call on Friday, November 15, 2013 from 10 AM to 12:00 Noon at Church of Our Saviour Evangelical Lutheran. FUNERAL: Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 15, 2013 at 12:00 PM at Church of Our Saviour Evangelical Lutheran with Reverend Matthew Agee officiating. Burial will follow in Estabrooks Cemetery."Thank you to Pastor Matt Agee, Dr. John Steiner, St. Francis Home, Personal Touch Florists for sending flowers to all the patients at Hospice Home. A special thank you to the caring staff and volunteers at Hospice Home for doing their work with love and dedication.
