Richard A. "Dick" Dahms, 79, of W6972 Rogersville Road, Town of Fond du Lac, passed away at home on Thursday, February 16, 2006. Dick was born July 26, 1926, in Brooklyn Township, Green Lake County, the son of the late Carl F. and Marie Helmer Dahms. On June 13, 1953, he married Marion Wallendal. They celebrated 52 years of marriage. Dick was employed by Fred Rueping Leather Company for 30 years, and also farmed and enjoyed his apple orchard. He was a veteran of the US Army serving from 1945 to 1947. Dick was a member of Rosendale United Church of Christ, and was a director on the Rosendale Mutual Insurance Company.Surviving is his wife, Marion, two daughters, Ardell Klaske of Fond du Lac, and Janell Dahms (FiancÃ©' Richard Matz) of Cannon Falls, MN, two grandsons, Kyle Klaske (FiancÃ©' Stacy Homann) and Kurt Klaske (special friend Ashley Crane), all of Fond du Lac, two sisters, Erma Koplin and Margaret Jolly, both of Ripon. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews. His parents, two brothers, Albert and Alfred Dahms, three sisters, Myrtle Siebenhaar, Esther Krueger, and Marie Schultz preceded him in death.
Visitation for Mr. Richard A. "Dick" Dahms will be on Monday, February 20, 2006, from 4 to 6:30 pm at Rosendale United Church of Christ. Memorial services will be at 6:30 pm on Monday, February 20, 2006, at the church. The Rev. Laura Hawkins will officiate and inurnment of cremated remains will be in Wedges Prairie Cemetery at a later date. Following the memorial services, the family requests all present to attend a luncheon in the fellowship hall of the church. Memorials may be directed to the Rosendale United Church of Christ.
