Robert A. Mayer

Robert A. Mayer, 88, of Eden, died Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at his residence. He was born January 19, 1932, the son of Edward and Ella (Braun) Mayer. Robert served in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne. On April 16, 1955 he married Dorothy A. Henke and she preceded him in death April 11, 2020. Robert worked for AO Smith Corporation in Milwaukee until his retirement in 1990. He was a member of American Legion Post #75. Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching the Packers, and loved being with his family.



He is survived by five children, Juanita Murphy, Debbie (Kelly) Ferguson, Laura (Michael) Neu, Steve (Diane) Mayer, and Tom (Joanna) Mayer; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; three sisters; one brother; and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; his step father, Oscar Kirschner; his wife, Dorothy; three children, Robert, Barbara (Ken) Schwinn, and Denise Fellenz; and son-in-law, Dan Murphy.



The visitation will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The memorial service will follow at 6:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Cremation has taken place and inurnment will be held this spring in Rienzi Cemetery Chapel Mausoleum.
