Robert C. "Herbie" Haensgen

Robert C. "Herbie" Haensgen, 70, of Fond du Lac, died Saturday, March 4, 2023 at his residence. He was born December 3, 1952 in Fond du Lac, the son of Orville and Mildred (Schneider) Haensgen. Robert served in the U.S. Army from 1972 -1974. Robert married Ruth Birschbach in September of 1979 and they had two children, Rachel and Ryan. On May 9, 1992 he married Kathy M. Baker in Fond du Lac.

Robert worked for Mercury Marine until his retirement in 2017. He was a member of Wings Over Wisconsin. Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, shooting pool, playing cribbage, being outdoors, and most of all loved spending time with his grandchildren and family.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy; two children, Rachel (James) Crofts and Ryan (Kristina) Haensgen; step daughter, Roya Sedghi; grandchildren, Jameson, Brayden, and Cameron Crofts, Emma Kutzke, Lexi Sedghi and Alivia Sedghi; great grandson, Julian Sedghi; his brother, Ronald (Barb) Haensgen; brothers-in-law, Mike Baker, Ken “Pete” (Terese) Baker, and Tom (Susie) Baker; sister-in-law, Mary Baker; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The visitation will be held Tuesday, March 14, 2023 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home. Cremation has taken place.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Robert’s name.
