Robert G. Deitte, 95, of Fond du Lac, died Saturday, June 1, 2013, at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born June 30, 1917, in Fond du Lac, the son of Milbert F. and Razada Niece Deitte. He was a 1935 graduate of Fond du Lac High School. On June 28, 1941, he married Virginia M. Thomm at Church of the Presentation in North Fond du Lac. Robert later joined the US Army and served in the South Pacific Theatre where he received the Purple Heart. He was employed as a machinist by Giddings & Lewis for almost 40 years, retiring as a supervisor. He later was a sales representative in the Fox Valley for Kel-Sir Machinery of Milwaukee. Bob was a member of Holy Family Parish, Eagles Aerie #270, Knights of Columbus, and the G & L Oldsters. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, going to the casinos, and traveling with his wife.Surviving is his wife, Virginia, a sister, Donna Burton of Fond du Lac, two grandsons, Michael (Chris) Leu of New Lisbon, WI, and Mark (Carol) Leu of Eden, six great grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter, a son-in-law, Kenneth Leu of Green Lake, a brother-in-law, Jim Ransom of Fond du Lac, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Sharon Ann Leu, a brother, Gerald Deitte, a sister, Marlene Ransom, and a brother-in-law, Carlton Burton.



Visitation for Robert G. Deitte will be on Tuesday, June 4, 2013, from 3 to 6:30 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Liturgy of the Word services will be at 6:30 PM at the funeral home on Tuesday. Deacon Dale Paczkowski will officiate. Burial will be on Wednesday morning in Calvary Cemetery. Additional information and guest book may be found at www.ueckerwitt.com
