Roy A. Tindall

Roy Ashley Tindall, 90, formerly of Fond du Lac, was born into Heaven on Saturday, September 14, 2013, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. He was born September 22, 1922, in Fond du Lac, the son of Roy Allen and Gertrude E. Vantine Tindall. He attended Washington Grade School, Roosevelt Junior High School, and graduated from Fond du Lac High School with the class of 1940. Enlisting in the US Navy, he served for 5 ½ years in the South Pacific Theatre with the US Navy's 7th Fleet, and was discharged in October of 1946 as a Gunners Mate 2nd Class. He married Dolores A. Kutz on September 15, 1945 at St. John's Lutheran Church in West Bend. He was formerly employed by Wisconsin Power & Light (currently Alliant Energy) in Fond du Lac for 38 ½ years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Wisconsin Power & Light Pioneer Club, the Fond du Lac Model Railroad Club, and Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church where he served on the church council and school board, served as treasurer, was an Elder, and was a member of the building committee. He was appointed by city manager Myron Medin to serve two terms on the Fond du Lac Board of Appeals. He served as a volunteer at St. Agnes Hospital for 22 years. Roy formerly played in two senior golf leagues, was a member of the Fond du Lac Aero Modelers Club, and was a member of Trier-Puddy American Legion Post #75. Surviving is his wife, Dolores, two sons, Ronald (Kathleen) Tindall of San Diego, CA, and Terry (Caroline) Tindall of Waukesha, a daughter, Carol Ann (Jack) Braun of Gilbert, AZ, eight grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. His parents, a daughter, Diane Lynn, two brothers, Lewis and Burnel, and a sister, Catherine, preceded him in death.



Visitation for Roy Ashley Tindall will be on Saturday, September 21, 2013, from 10 AM to 1 PM at Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church, 606 Forest Avenue, Fond du Lac. Funeral services will be at 1 PM on Saturday at the church. The Rev. James Borgwardt will officiate and burial will be in Estabrooks Cemetery. Members of Trier-Puddy American Legion Post #75 Firing Squad will conduct graveside military rites. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
