Sandra Lee "Sandy" Buchner

Sandra Lee “Sandy” Buchner, 75, of Fond du Lac, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2015. She was born in Manitowoc on August 22, 1940, a daughter of Leonard and Clara (Firkus) Hronek. On August 19, 1961, Sandy married Paul R. Buchner in Manitowoc. She loved bird watching, camping and traveling to Mississippi.



Sandy is survived by her husband of 54 years, Paul Buchner; their 3 children, Tina (Mark) Rabe of Fond du Lac, Todd of Campbellsport and Chris (Jill) of Fond du Lac; 5 step-grandchildren, Barb (John) Goldapske of North Fond du Lac, Shane (Gail) Rabe of Oshkosh, Amy Jo (Scott) Beck of Ripon, Amber (Matt) Christianson of Fond du Lac and Brittany Haferman of Fond du Lac; 9 step-great-grandchildren, Dakota, Kaden, Hunter, Madysyn and Caleb Goldapske, Landon Rabe, Brookelynn and Jacob Christianson, and Chase Haferman. She is also survived by three sisters; Carol Singer of San Diego, Cal., Sharon Clitheroe of Hethersett, England (U.K.), and Margaret (Paul) Martorano of Schaumburg, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Sandra (Frank) Demell of Oakfield; and a brother-in-law, Thomas (Cathy) Buchner of Manitowoc. In addition, Sandy is survived by her ‘honorary’ children, Judy and Terry Rentmeister; ‘honorary’ grandchildren, Gina (Glenn) Buelow and T.J. (Kelly) Rentmeister; ‘honorary’ great-grandchildren, Logan, Isabella and Landon Buelow and Lily and Holly Rentmeister; as well as nieces, nephews, other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 sister; and 2 brothers.



A memorial gathering for Sandy will be held Saturday, December 12, 2015 from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. in Fond du Lac. Per the wishes of the family, there will not be a memorial service. Cremation has taken place.
