Sherman H. Jacobson, 77 of Van Dyne, died Saturday, September 25, 2010 at his residence.He was born in the Town of Coon in Wisconsin on September 25, 1933 the son of Hjalmerand Hilda Tomtengen Jacobson. On May 26,1962 he married Barbara L. Patt at Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church, Fond du Lac. Sherman was a graduate of Viroqua High School. Hewas employed at Coke a Cola, Fischer Body, Janesville, Mercury Marine, and FDL Bumper Ex-change. He was a member of Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church. Sherman enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a charter member of Walleyes For Tomorrow, where he served as secretary, Conservation Congress, where he served as a delegate, Winnebago Conservation Alliance, where he served as treasurer, and was a life member of the North Fond du Lac Archery Club. He was a Hunter Safety Instructor for 38 years and coached Little League.SURVIVORS: He is survived by his wife, Barbara Jacobson, Van Dyne, three children; Boyd Jacobson, Van Dyne, Todd Jacobson, Spencer, Indiana, Paula (Mark) Claussen, Conifer, Colorado, four grandchildren; Jake and Ian Jacobson, Nick and Raquel McCourt. He is further survived by four sisters and one brother; Betty (Alf) Ericksen, Myra Schuler, Jeanette (Ron)Fanta, Marilyn (Ray) Solberg and Leland Jacobson. Sherman was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and five brothers, and his step-mother Hannah Jacobson.



VISITATION: Friends may call on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 from 3:30 to 7:30 PM at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. FUNERAL: Private family services will be held Wednesday, September 29, 2010 with Reverend Shari Routh officiating.
