Shirley M. Maltby

Shirley M. Maltby, 92, of Fond du Lac, died Monday, January 14, 2019 at Serenity Circle, St. Frances Home. She was born August 14, 1926 in Garnet, WI, the daughter of Glenn and Edna Roehrdanz Rothmann. Shirley graduated from Chilton High School in 1944 and received her nursing degree from St. Agnes Hospital School of Nursing in 1947. On August 30, 1949 she married Harold E. Maltby at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Malone and he preceded her in death on May 8, 2013. Shirley worked as a Registered Nurse at Chilton Memorial Hospital until her retirement. She was a very active member and parish nurse at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, was involved extensively with Home Community and Education and volunteered with hospice. Shirley enjoyed traveling and genealogy, but her real passion was nursing and helping others.



She is survived by her children, Kevin (Patti) Maltby of Colgate, Kim (Patrick) McCutcheon of Fitchburg, and Ken (Laura) Maltby of Menomonee Falls; eight grandchildren, Danielle Maltby, Ian (Kelli) Maltby, Keeley McCutcheon, Luke McCutcheon, Seth (Bora) McCutcheon, Jenna (Jerry) Mao, Bria Maltby, and Dana Maltby; one great grandson, Henry McCutcheon; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold; and two brothers, Gerald and Gordon Rothmann.



The visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:30 AM on Friday, January 25, 2019 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, N10362 St Paul Rd, Malone. The memorial service will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday at church with Rev. William Rishel officiating. Cremation has taken place and burial will be held in Union Cemetery at a later date.
