Stephen P. Karls, age 57, of 376 Rockrose Drive, Fond du Lac, died Saturday, September 19, 2009 after a year long battle with cancer at his residence with his family by his side. He was born on July 16, 1952 in Fond du Lac, the son of Alfred and Jeanette (Koch) Karls. Stephen was a 1970 graduate of Chilton High School. On September 30, 1972 he married Patricia Burg at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein. Stephen loved his job as Property Manager for the YMCA and worked there for twenty-seven years during which time he made many close friends. He was a member of Holy Family Church. Stephen liked to golf, and was an avid Milwaukee Brewer fan and loved watching any sport that was on television. He enjoyed his high school classmates who all know him as "Fritz", and was extremely proud of the 1969 Chilton High School Football Team. Stephen had a great sense of humor and liked playing tricks on people. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren. SURVIVORS: his wife Patricia of Fond du Lac, two children, Tammy (Doug) Meyers of Brookfield, Jeff (Kristin) Karls of Menomonee Falls, three grandchildren, Alyssa and Taylor Meyers, Emily Karls, one brother, Jerry (Linda) Karls of Fond du Lac, two sisters, Janice Zangl of Fond du Lac, Pat (Paul) Keltesch of Kiel, brothers and sisters in law, Jeanie (Rick) Feyen, Barb (John) Buechel, David (Sandy) Burg, Judy (Mike) Costello, and Dan (Kathy) Burg, and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, David and Kenny, his mother and father in law, Ben and Christina Burg, brother in law, Jim Zangl, brother in law, Paul Burg.



VISITATION: Monday, September 21, 2009 from 3-6:30 P.M. at Holy Family Parish-Holy Family Church, 271 4th St Way, Fond du Lac. FUNERAL: Monday, September 21, 2009 at 6:30 P.M. at Holy Family Parish-Holy Family Church. Entombment will take place at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park.
