THOMAS N. EVENSONThomas N. Evenson, 73, of Fond du Lac, died Friday, December 15, 2006 at Hospice Home of Hope, Fond du Lac. Tom was born the son of Edwin and Vernabelle Evenson on June 3, 1933 in Wausau, WI. On October 25, 1991 he married Carol J. Mader in Fond du Lac. After serving in the US Air Force and attending UW Madison, Tom embarked on a lifelong career in business management working for Montgomery Ward, Copps Corporation, and Gateway Foods. He taught business and computer courses at Moraine Park Technical College and the Fond du Lac Senior Center for the past two decades. Tom was a pilot, enjoyed flying private and model aircraft, motorcycling, the outdoors, traveling and spending time with his wife Carol and his family. An avid sailor, he was honored as the "Sailor of the Year" receiving the "Lewis Cup", a coveted traveling trophy award. Tom also instructed youth sailing for the FDL Sailing Club. Having a full and meaningful life, enjoying life to the fullest and keeping busy was Tom's philosophy on successful living. SURVIVORS: Carol, his wife of 15 years; his six children, Jo (Bruce) Yungerman, Janesville, WI, Jon (Marilee) Evenson, Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Rev. Robert Evenson, Issaquah, WA, Karen Evenson (Arvid Lager), Racine, WI, Chris (Lisa) Evenson, Oneida, WI, Katherine (Kurt) Schultz, Janesville, WI; Carol's three children, Andra Mader, Fond du Lac, Joseph (Nicole) Mader, Colorado Springs, CO, Michael (Danielle) Mader, Fond du Lac; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Edward "Bud" Evenson, Ashland, WI, David (Marlene) Evenson, Sun City, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents.



VISITATION: the family will greet friends on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 from 2 PM "“ 6 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. A celebration of Tom's life will be held on Tuesday at 6 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated to the Hospice Home of Hope.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
