Thomas R. "Chief" Huettl

Thomas R. "Chief" Huettl, Sr., 66, of 434 Ledgewood Drive, Fond du Lac, died Sunday, February 25, 2007, at his residence. He was born October 29, 1940, in Milwaukee, the son of Ralph and Irene VanEgeren Huettl. On August 1, 1964, he married Claudia Collins in Indianapolis, IN. Chief graduated from Marquette University in 1963 with an Accounting Degree. He was a veteran of the US Army serving from 1964 to 1966. He was Senior Vice President and Treasurer of Steenberg Homes, Inc. for the past 35 years. Tom was a member of Holy Family Parish.Surviving is his wife, Claudia, three sons; Tim (Sue) Huettl of Indianapolis, Tom (Terri) Huettl, Jr. of Fond du Lac, and David Huettl of Hoboken, NJ, four grandchildren, Alex, Sam, Lauren, and Mitchell. He is further survived by a sister, Nancy (Lawrence) Clancy of Mequon, WI, and a brother, Robert (Patti) Huettl of Brookfield, WI. He is also survived by four sisters-in-law; Kathleen (William) Watts of Whitewater, WI, Mary (Thomas) Whitmore of Carmel, IN, Patricia Collins of Vero Beach, FL, and Anne (Dennis) Abere of Waukesha, and two brothers-in-law, Michael (Laura) Collins of San Diego, CA, and Louis (Rita) Collins of Charlotte, NC. His parents preceded him in death.



Visitation for Thomas R. "Chief" Huettl, Sr. will be on Thursday, March 1, 2007, from 4 to 8 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Avenue. Funeral services for Chief will be on Friday, 10 am at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Church, 232 Peters Avenue, Fond du Lac. The Rev. Patrick Heppe will officiate and burial will be in Rienzi Cemetery. Additional information and guest book may be found at www.ueckerwitt.com. In lieu of flowers, donations to Central Wisconsin Cancer Program, St. Agnes Hospice Hope, St. Mary's Springs High School, or the Gratitude Club would be appreciated. Special thanks to all the members of "Team Huettl", including all the doctors and nurses at the Central Wisconsin Cancer Program and to Hospice, who made Chief's last weeks at home peaceful and comfortable.
