Usona M.M. Schemmel

Usona M.M. Schemmel, 89 died Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at her residence. She was born April 25, 1925 in Fond du Lac, the daughter of George and Esther (Leichtnam) Weinkoetz.



Usona spent her early childhood in Elkhart Lake and returned to Fond du Lac for high school. She worked for various factories in the area as a laborer for over fifty years. She enjoyed crafts; especially needlepoint and latch hook.



Surviving Usona is a son, Michael (Carol) Wieck, one grandson Samuel Wieck and one granddaughter, Sarah Wieck. She is further survived by a brother-in-law, Ronald Schemmel, close friends Dorothy Barnfine, Carol Roberts and Norma and Alfredo Mauricio. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Arthur C. Schemmel.



Visitation for Usona will be held from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM, Monday January 5, 2015 at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, N6250 County Road K in Fond du Lac. Service will follow at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jack Harrison officiating. Entombment will take place immediately following the services.



Usona’s wishes were that memorials be directed to Agnesian Hospice Hope, 239 Trowbridge Drive in Fond du Lac.
