Yvonne "Bonnie" M. Salzmann

Yvonne “Bonnie” M. Salzmann, 68, of Fond du Lac, passed away Monday, September 5, 2016, due to complications of a short but intensive battle with leukemia. Bonnie was born March 8, 1948 in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Peter and Theresa Carrollo Wolk. She graduated from St. Mary’s Springs High School in 1966 and has been a lifelong resident of Fond du Lac.



In 1968 Bonnie married David Verges and they had two children during their marriage. On April 28, 2008 she married Lee H. Salzmann after a 22 year courtship. The pair eloped to Las Vegas to get married much to the surprise of family and friends. In March 2014, Bonnie retired from Fond du Lac County Clerk of Courts office after 33 years. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren often buying presents for them months or years in advance. She also enjoyed trips to the casino and finding treasures at thrift stores.



Bonnie is survived by her husband, Lee; daughter, Brenda Verges of Milwaukee; son, Jim (Jill) Verges of Franklin; stepsons, Jay (Staci) Salzmann of Fond du Lac and Scott (Caron) Salzmann of Green Bay; seven grandchildren, Mia Wilson, Issac and Ben Verges, Eli and Devyn Salzmann, Jaelyn and Ian Salzmann, and another arriving in October 2016; sisters, Carol (Rollie) Chase and Mary (Mark) Strand; sisters-in-law, Dianne (Doug) Hoskins, Beth (Gary) Meunier and Jan Salzmann; brother-in-law, Bill Gardner; aunt, Mary Schraufnagel of Lomira; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and her beloved Springer Spaniel, Madison. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Janet Gardner and other aunts and uncles.



Visitation will be held Monday, September 12, 2016 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place and a private memorial service was held.



The family would like to thank everyone for their cards and prayers while Bonnie was at St. Luke’s Medical Center. They would further like to thank the staff at St. Luke’s for their care and diligence during her stay.



In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Bonnie’s name.
