Alfred E. Schmidt

Alfred E. Schmidt, age 92, died Friday, December 06, 2013 at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home, formerly of 47 Amory St, Fond du Lac. He was born on February 17, 1921 in the Town of Hubbard, the son of Theodore and Ida (Tippett) Schmidt. On December 20, 1941 he married Genevieve Smith in Iron Ridge, WI. Alfred served in the United States Army Air Force as a medical technician in Pratt, Kansas. He worked for thirty years at Giddings & Lewis. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, golfing, wood working, and gardening.SURVIVORS: his wife Genevieve of Fond du Lac, two children, Marlene Furlong of Fond du Lac, Theodore (Debra Thorpe) Schmidt of Sheboygan; six grandchildren, James Furlong of St. Francis, WI, Jeffrey Furlong of Fond du Lac, Rhonda Schmidt of Sheboygan, TJ (fiancé Heather) Schmidt of Sheboygan, Robert (Lori) Schmidt of Sheboygan, Andrew (Natalie) Schmidt of Hawaii; six great-grandchildren, Alex, Rebecca, Scott, Abigail, Gabriel, and Sophia, and he is also survived by sisters in law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters, and one son in law, Gaile Furlong.



VISITATION: Tuesday, December 10, 2013 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Church of Our Saviour, 363 S. Main St, Fond du Lac. FUNERAL: Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at Church of Our Saviour with the Reverend Matthew Agee officiating.
