Allen J. Newton

May 8, 1970 — March 9, 2024

Allen Jeffery Newton passed away at Eden Vista Assisted Living, Ripon WI on Saturday, March 9, 2024 where he resided for the past 2 ½ years.  He was born May 8, 1970 in Fond du Lac the son of Eugene and Alice Eggers Newton.

He was baptized and received First Communion and Confirmation at St. John the Evangelist in Byron WI. Receiving communion was important to Allen throughout his years of struggle.

Allen was fortunate to be in the pioneering of specialized learning in the Fond du Lac School District in the 1970’s. He participated in boy scouts, wrestling and football. Allen graduated from Goodrich High School in 1989. Following graduation, he attended Moraine Park Technical College and worked at Jet Stream Car Wash and Wickes Lumber before becoming disabled.

Allen took pride in building model cars and model rockets, winning blue ribbons for his rockets at the county fair. Allen enjoyed watching wrestling, the Green Bay Packers (even when he said they didn’t show up to play), Star Trek movies and listening to classical rock, especially Kiss.

Despite his 20 some years of being disabled he never gave up longing to live independently in his own apartment. He was able to see a purpose in life by helping each day with small chores at Eden Vista, thanks to the help of the staff. A Christmas gift from Eden Vista Staff inspired Allen to take up model cars again despite the past three months of declining health.

Allen is survived by his mother, Alice Newton; his siblings, Gene Newton of North Fond du Lac, Julie (John) Schmidt of Fond du Lac, Michael (Debra) Newton of Oakfield, and Daniel (Michelle) Newton of New Berlin; his nephews, Jeff Schmidt, Justin Schmidt, Ryan (Danielle) Newton, Matthew, Logan, Aiden, and Jackson Newton, and Tanner Newton; his nieces, Rebecca (Jake) Freiberg, Jessica (Joey) Stark, and Mikayla Newton; great-nephews, Easton, Wyatt, Owen, Walker and great-niece, Maizie. He is also survived by his uncles, Hubert Eggers, William Eggers, Dale Newton, and Ken (Mary) Newton; his aunt, Diane Newton; many cousins and friends.

Allen was proceeded in death by his father, Eugene Newton; maternal grandparents, Hubert and Edna Eggers; paternal grandparents, Nile and Alice Newton; uncles and aunts, Edward (Susie) Eggers, Patty Newton, Gary Newton, Paul (Chuckie) Gau, and Kathy (Bob) Beltezore.
