Armon Lyle Wiegert, 81, of Fond du Lac passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at Harbor Haven Health and Rehabilitation. He was born on January 21, 1945 in Fond du Lac, the son of Henry August Wiegert and Lydia (Sturtz) Wiegert.
Armon graduated from Lomira High School in 1963 while living with his foster family. (Palmer & Carol Behm)
Armon was a proud United States Army and Vietnam War veteran, having served in military intelligence from 1965 through 1969. He also spent many years working at Mercury Marine in the High Performance Division, then retiring in Florida.
He enjoyed playing the guitar and had a wonderful voice. He also enjoyed boating and fishing, was an avid reader, and loved playing Words with Friends and Scrabble online.
Surviving him are Armon and his former wife Sally’s children, April Wiegert, Audrey (Craig) Schmidt, and Carol May (Dan) Hadley; grandchildren, Amanda, Gavin, Rosemary, and Milo; and great grandchildren, Anna, Ariel, Aurora, and Alice. He is also survived by three sisters, Barb (Ron) Langacker, Merinda Knutson, and Melita “Jane” Wiegert.
Armon was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Anthony; a brother, Ronald; a sister, Margaret; and his brother-in-law, David Knutson.
Visitation for Armon Wiegert will be held on Monday, September 21, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home in Fond du Lac, WI. A memorial service with military honors will follow. Cremation has taken place. Internment will be in Rienzi Cemetery in Fond du Lac at a later date.
The family would like to thank the staff at Harbor Haven and SSM Hospice for their care and compassion given to Armon and his family.
