Arthur Henry Roggentine, Sr. age 84 of Fond du Lac, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2004 at "Hospice Home of Hope" after a long illness.Arthur was born on March 10, 1920 in Milwaukee Wis., the son of the late Paul and Dora Griephan Roggentine.Arthur was born in Milwaukee and then moved as a child to the Chicago area until 1957. He then moved to the Fond du Lac area where he has been a resident ever since.Arthur married Jean Scanlon on May 23, 1944 and she preceded him in death on June 8, 1958. Arthur married Ida M. Berger of Fond du Lac on June 27, 1969.Arthur attended public school for 11 years and then trade school studying Electronics for 3 more years.Arthur was in the U.S. Army, European Theater, from 1942 until 1946. He has worked at many trades including 12 years as an Auto Mechanic and finally as a Maintenance Mechanic at the Friday Canning Factory until he retired in 1985. Arthur's main hobby was woodworking which he enjoyed until his illness made him stop 2 years ago. Arthur is survived by his wife, Ida (Berger) Roggentine NFDL; daughter, Nancy (Dewey) Scheel of Rockford, Illinois; daughter, Carol (Curtis) Ferguson FDL; daughter, Marge (Mike) Manowske of Eldorado Wis.; son, Arthur (Donna) Roggentine Jr. FDL; daughter, Janet (Mark) Bender FDL; son, Daniel (Tracy Springborn) Roggentine FDL; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife Jean (Scanlon) Roggentine, 1 daughter, Mary Lou Roggentine, 1 brother, 2 sisters and 1 great grandson.



The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 28,2004 from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the Chapel of The Risen Christ Mausoleum,Calvary Cemetery. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, July 28, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. at the mausoleum with Reverend Barry Vegter officiating . Cremation will take place with inurnment in Calvary Cemetery. Trier Puddy American Legion Post No.75 will conduct military graveside services.Memorials in Arthur's name may be directed to the Hospice Home of Hope in FDL.The family would like to extend their grateful appreciation to the excellent staff at "Hospice Home of Hope" for the loving care and support given to our beloved Dad and Grandfather.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is serving the family.
