Betty L. Beardsley

Betty L. Beardsley, 95, of Fond du Lac, died on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Lakehouse Assisted Living of Fond du Lac with family by her side.

Betty was born on January 10, 1930, in Shreveport, LA, the daughter of Eugene and Florence (Pringle) Peeples. On May 10, 1952, she married Charles “Charlie” Beardsley in Memphis, TN. Betty started her career as an airplane stewardess with Delta Airlines. She was better known in following years as a school secretary in the Fond du Lac area school district, at Fahey and Roberts schools. Betty was a member of Covenant Community Church in Fond du Lac and Faith Assembly Christian Church in Destin, FL. She was actively involved in Fond du Lac Community Theater, Fond du Lac Service League, and the Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts, where a room has been named after her, in honor of her service.

Betty enjoyed looking her best for everybody. From the fancy shoes, the sparkly jewelry, her bright red nail polish while holding a glass of Merlot, and the sun tanning, she took pride in her classy look. In her spare time, she enjoyed musical theater, running the Fond du Lac booth at EAA, shopping, driving her convertibles, crosswords, gardening, Gillies sundaes (she preferred Turtles), and, above all, tanning by a pool or beach. She was an avid Green Bay Packers and New York Yankees fan. Her greatest love was for her family, especially her pride and joy, her two granddaughters.

She is survived by her two children, Betsy (James) Richey and Charles B. “Chuck” (Maria) Beardsley; two granddaughters, Sofia and Alana Beardsley; two brothers, Billy (Cherri) Peeples and DuWayne (Connie) Peeples; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Florence; husband, Charles “Charlie”; sister, Maurine Harding; and two beloved dogs, Benji and Bettina Louise.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025, from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The memorial service will follow the visitation at 5:00 PM. Cremation has taken place.
