CARL A. SCHMIDTCarl A. Schmidt, age 82 , of 25 Fountain Circle, was taken home by the Lord on Wednesday, September 15,2004 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born in Milwaukee on August 6,1922 the son of Charles and Eleanor Gruhn Schmidt. On August 16,1947 he married Audrey M. Maas in Fond du Lac. She preceded him in death on July 9,1998. On February 25,2000 he married Jeannine I. Gyr in Fond du Lac. Carl was a veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Army. He was a sheet metal worker for Born Sheet Metal for over 40 years. Carl was a member of the Church of Peace-United Church of Christ and a former member of Fond du Lac Lodge. No. 26 F. & A.M., Knight Templar's and Tripoli Shrine, Milwaukee. He enjoyed tin punching and was active in Loaves and Fishes and the Men's Club at Hope Lutheran Church.SURVIVORS: wife, Jeannine I.Gyr-Schmidt, Fond du Lac, one son, Bruce (Beverly) Schmidt, Oshkosh, one grandson Cory (Nicole) Schmidt, Monona, two step-daughters, Deborah (Allen) Wegner, Fond du Lac, Rebecca (Todd) Gruenstern, Fond du Lac, five step-grandchildren, Jason (Destiney) Ramirez, Courtney Ramirez, Angela Anderson, Ashley and Dylan Gruenstern, all of Fond du Lac. One step-great-grandchild, Sebastien Ramirez, one brother, Vern (Gladys) Schmidt, Menomonee Falls. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife and one sister.



VISITATION: Saturday, September 18,2004 from 9:00-10:30 A.M. at the Church of Peace- United Church of Christ. FUNERAL: Services will be held Saturday, September 18,2004 at10:30 A.M. at the church. Reverend Gerald Bertsch and Rev. Dr. Martin Koehler will officiate. Entombment will follow at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum at Ledgeview Memorial Park, Town of Empire.In lieu of flowers memorials appreciated to the Church of Peace or the American Heart Asociation.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home Is Serving The Family.
