Carol A. Cooper

Carol Anne Cooper, 82, of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, died December 4, 2024 at St. Francis Home in Fond du Lac. The oldest of 4 children, Carol was born May 17,1942 in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Henry & Anne (Dillenburg) Cooper.

On May 16, 2009 Carol celebrated a Lifelong Commitment ceremony with Sharon Roark at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fond du Lac.

Carol was a member of Sacred Heart Church, and an Associate member of Congregation of the Sisters of St. Agnes, as well as a member of The Joyful Spirit Ensemble Choir, All God’s Family LGBTQ+ Support Group at UCC Church, and United for Diversity at Sacred Heart Church; and Carol brought her passion for therapeutic drumming to the Sisters and Associates at Nazareth Court & Center Drum Circle.

Carol had a servant’s heart and was always helping others. She volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul, St. Agnes Hospital as a Eucharistic Minister, St. Francis Nursing Home, ASTOP Bingo, and was an usher and greeter at Sacred Heart Church.

Carol is survived by her three siblings, Marilyn E. Scher (the late Albert,) James H. Cooper (Beth,) Henry J. Cooper (Linda), nine nieces and nephews, numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews, and many cousins. She was predeceased by her life partner, Sharon Roark, her brother-in-law, Albert Scher, and her great-nephew, Cade Barr.

Per Carol’s request, cremation has taken place. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:00AM on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Sacred Heart Church, 200 S. Peters Ave., Fond du Lac, WI. Friends may visit with the family prior to the Mass from 9:30 – 10:00 AM at the church.

Private burial will be at Estabrooks Cemetery, Fond du Lac.

Carol had requested that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Congregation of the Sisters of St Agnes, 320 County Rd. K, Fond du Lac. WI 54937
