Charles J. Grabau, 69, of N7895 Fairfield Drive, Malone, died Wednesday, August 1, 2012, of an aortic aneurysm. He was born in Chicago on November 8, 1942, the son of Felix and Jane Grabau. On August 21, 1971, he married Nancie (Bruley) Immel at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church. She preceded him in death on June 16, 2008. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, playing cards, deer hunting, and spending time at the cabin. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving from 1961 to 1965, and again from 1967 to 1969. He was a Operations Yeoman and Radar Specialist aboard the minesweeper, USS Assurance. He was formerly a member of the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church.SURVIVORS: his four children, Steve (Abby) Immel, Fond du Lac, Thomas (Barbara) Immel, Malone, Susan (Special Friend, Dennis) Immel, Rhinelander, Andrew (Cindy) Immel, Fond du Lac; nine grandchildren, Tony (Cathy) Immel, Matt (Fiance' Rachel) Immel, Stevie Lea Immel, Seth (Tori), Zach and Nick Immel, Kathlen (Bill) Stuewer, Wesley and Audrey Immel; five great grandchildren, Brianna and Caleb Immel, William Stuewer Jr, Maddyson Stuewer, and Natilie Immel, one sister-n-law, Judy (Marvin) Fellman, of Champlin, MN; two brothers, Rick (Judy) Crawley of Elk Grove Village, IL, and Ron Crawley of Union Grove, WI, a sister-in-law, Geraldine "Gerri" Grabau of Ft. Myers, FL, a brother-in-law, Robert Ferdinand of Fond du Lac, many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son, James Grabau, a brother, Gerald Grabau, and a brother-in-law, Steven Bruley.



VISITATION: will be from 9 to 11 AM on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 AM on Thursday at the funeral home. The Reverend Robert Rosenberg will officiate and inurnment of cremated remains will follow at the Town of Empire Cemetery.Members of Trier-Puddy American Legion Post #75 will conduct graveside military rites.
