Cheryl "Cheri" M. Peebles Lemiesz

June 6, 1946 — June 6, 2026

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Cheri, beloved wife, mother, sister, family member, and friend. She was born on June 6, 1946 in Waupun, the daughter of Sherman and Helen (Fridel) Peebles and passed on June 6, 2026.

On June 28, 1962 she married Joseph F. Lemiesz at St. John’s Catholic Church in Woodhull (Our Risen Savior Catholic Church).

Throughout the years Cheri was employed with Singer (Forest Mall), Knaus Cheese and Silver Star (Miles Kimbal). Mom also volunteered at the Galloway House in Fond du Lac. Mom enjoyed card making and quilting. She had donated several raffle quilts to Our Risen Savior Catholic Church and the Fond du Lac Historical Society. She loved traveling with her dear friends.

Survivors include husband, Joe; two daughters, Dawn (Gary) Pfeiffer of Oshkosh and Shelley (David) Achterberg of Van Dyne; one son, Joe (Andra) Lemiesz of Rosendale; six grandchildren, Samantha (Andrew) Kamrowski, Joe, John and Lindsey Achterberg, Elizabeth (fiancé, Sam) and Corporal Matthew (Lydia) Lemiesz; three great granddaughters, Wrenley, Cora, and Amelia. Mom is survived by two brothers, Jim (Darlene) Loehr of Fond du Lac and Joe (Debbie) Loehr of Summerfield, FL; one sister-in-law, Pat Lemiesz Thurk Heyer of Brandon; niece, Penny (Josh) Barthuly and their daughter, Alissa; special friends, Sue Bunkert, Kaye, and Linda Jari, and loved family members and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Sherman and Helen; step-father, Lester Loehr; father and mother-in-law, Frank and Reta (Towne) Lemiesz; brothers-in-law, Roger (Bernice) Orvis, Bruce (Shirley) Orvis, and Tom Lemiesz; great nieces, Jenna and Lily Barthuly.

Mom, the deep love and affection you provided us all throughout your lifetime will stay with us for the remainder of our days. Your infectious laughter and your watchful, solicitous nature will be deeply missed.

The visitation will be held Tuesday, June 16, 2026 from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at Our Risen Savior Catholic Church in Woodhull, N6499 County Road Y, Eldorado. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at church. Private burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery.
