Christine A. Rechek, age 65, entered her eternal home on March 17, 2024. She was born on March 23, 1958, in Beaver Dam, the daughter of Rodney and Delores (Paul) Sabatke. Chris was baptized and confirmed at 1st Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. Due to an unfortunate accident that claimed her parents' lives while Chris was an infant, she was adopted by her grandparents, Hilton and Dagmar (Aggerholm) Sabatke and raised in the Beaver Dam area. On June 21, 1982, she married Jeffrey Rechek in Juneau, WI.
Chris graduated with an AA from Moraine Park Technical College and worked for a time for the State of Wisconsin in Madison. She then became an administrative assistant for Slate Law Office, Sias Law Office, and then later returned to Slate Law Office where she eventually retired. Chris was a dedicated and loving mother, which in turn made her an even more dedicated and loving grandmother. She loved to attend everything the grandchildren had going on. They filled her heart as she did theirs. Chris delighted in making the 12 days of Christmas and Easter egg hunts for her grandchildren, yearly traditions. Chris was a devoted wife to her husband, Jeff, and was fond of spending time gardening and being outdoors with him. She enjoyed time with family and friends, coffee, puzzles, and was known to always be looking after others and their needs.
Chris is survived by her husband Jeff, son Rodney (Carla) Kern; daughter Becky Kern; six grandchildren, Tyler (April) Kern, Kevin (fiancé Lydia) Kern and Kayla Kern and Ally Shafer, Sid Shafer, and Joey Shafer, all of Fond du Lac, and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; sisters and brothers-in-law (through adoption) Joyce (Roger) Kasmiskie and Joan (Walter) Kuhlman and other relatives.
The family would like to thank the staff at SSM Health Cancer center for the help in her fight with cancer for over 5 years. The family would also like to thank the staff at Harbor Haven and Rehabilitation, for their compassion in caring for Chris.
