Cody James Bowen

Cody James Bowen, age 37, of Oshkosh, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. He was born on August 25, 1988, in Fond du Lac, the son of Tracy Bowen and Barb (Eilbes) Schmitz. Cody was happiest spending time with family and friends. Driving his Mini Cooper convertible through the mountains of Colorado, the seaside of California, the White Sands of New Mexico. Chicago was his favorite city. Cody will be remembered for his beautiful and creative mind and how he selflessly cared about people and the impact he could have on the world. Cody’s beautiful smile and contagious laugh will carry us through the coming days. Cody gave the gift of life through organ donation.

Survivors include his mother, Barb (Mark) Schmitz; his father, Tracy (Lori) Bowen; his sister, Savanna (Zach) Johnson; his brothers, Casey (Haili) Bowen and Cory (Chelsea) Bowen; his nephews, Diesel, Remi, and Noah; his nieces, Payton and Lively; and his beloved dog, Jack and his cat, Luna.

Cremation has taken place. There will be a celebration of Cody’s life in spring.
