David Edward Zimmerman

David Edward Zimmerman, 79, of Fond du Lac, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2023, at Hospice Home of Hope. He was born on January 27, 1944, in Waupun, the son of Norman and Jennie (Warner) Zimmerman. He is survived by two terrific children, Vicki (Zimmerman) Ramus and Dan Zimmerman, kid sister, Dawn Marie Zimmerman, and fun loving, significant other, Cathy. And as David put it, “The best son-in-law a father could hope for.” Jerry Ramus. He is further survived by his two prized grandchildren, Alex and Nathan Ramus; and childhood friend, Gordy and Chris Schroeder.

David was always active in baseball, basketball, football, hunting and fishing, as a child. Throughout his life, he was a correctional officer, worked at the railroad, John Deere, and Wisconsin Power and Light. David always liked to stay busy fixing anything he could get his hands on. He loved going to the Parade of Homes, car shows and especially his grandchildren’s sporting events.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Judy.

The visitation will be held on Monday, October 30, 2023, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Entombment will occur at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Cemetery follow the funeral service.
