Dean A. Choate, 56, of Fond du Lac, died Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born on October 13, 1965, in Kronenwetter, WI, the son of Richard Choate and Janet Colcord. Dean worked as an armed security guard, volunteered for the Civil Air Patrol, and volunteered as security for various festivals and events including, Waupun Truck N Show, EAA, the Warbirds, and Walleye Weekend. Dean loved playing on his ham radio and could be found there under the call sign “KC9TGM.” He liked to go on road trips but could never stay awake on them. Dean was a fourth-degree knight in the Knights of Columbus. He was the technology pastor at PCC New Chester Church, Oxford, WI. Dean loved spending time outside and had a love for airplanes. Photography and storm spotting were his favorite hobbies.



He is survived by his wife of 14 years Cindylou Choate, daughter, Donna (Brandon) Blend and her mother, Montaese Choate; two grandchildren, Michael and Amira Blend; stepfather, William Rich; three sisters, Ericka (Phillip) Lamb Spicer, Tara (Nick) Filkins, and Angel (Micky) Babcock; beloved friend, Donna L. Blend, and her children, Benjamin (Tera), Bradley (Stefanie), and Bowen (Michaela) Blend; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Janet; grandparents Colcord and Choate; and sister, Amy.



A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 3:30 PM at the American Legion, 500 Fond du Lac Ave, Fond du Lac, WI 54935. Cremation has taken place.
