Deborah was born 4-3-1953 at 7:56pm at the Presbyterian Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Her mother Helen Rogozinski was 40 years old and her father Leo Galuski was 43 at the time. Deborah entered the world as a fighter. Shortly after her birth Deborah turned blue and required a full blood transfusion requiring her to remain at the hospital for an extra month as a newborn.
Deborah has blessed this world with 72 years of life, with over 38,203,420 minutes of living, walking millions of steps throughout her travels. She has witnessed history unfold at monumental events. Events such as the Apollo 11 landing on the moon, the Galuski family watched this historic event on one of the first color televisions.
Deborah graduated from the class of 1971 from Good Counsel High School in Chicago, Illinois. During her time growing up her parents, Helen and Leo owned a butcher shop, Candy Shop called LuLu’s and a Dry Cleaning store later on. She got to experience such places as Yosemite National Park, Universal Studios, the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas to which her mom Helen loved playing the slot machines.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Thomas Thaddeus Bartosiak. Married for 30 years and together for 32. Those who knew them will always remember Deb and Tom as the life of the party. A couple who always threw big Christmas parties and as loving parents. Thomas continues to love her and honors their promise while giving wisdom onto his grandkids at every turn.

Deborah was an avid reader of mysteries, dramas, fantasies, Harry Potter, and a listener of any audiobook with a sexy voice. Harry Potter was always the one which had a special place in her heart, always amused by the hidden Easter eggs, unknown plots and story arcs behind the characters. She had a dream to cast spells and fly through the sky into these magical places unbeknownst to muggles.
Deborah was a gamer on Big Fish, to her friends at 🍸COSMOS🍸 thank you! You all became an important part of her life. So many of you gave her solace these past few years with no judgement, lots of jokes, plenty of smiles and even more love. The community you all built was one that earned her respect and she loved to talk about everyone.
Deborah was an UNO queen, she would even hustle the grandkids when playing. No cards were safe when grandma was around. This was one of Deborah’s favorite things to play. It was not uncommon for Deborah to have multiple decks & countless score cards lying around. Grandma was always at the ready for a new game, even when the grandkids would make late night visits to not miss “seeing what grandma was up to”.
One of Deborah’s favorite holidays was Christmas, she loved watching everyone’s eyes light up this time of year. She always made sure to have a “pickle” in her Christmas tree that everyone was required to find. Her house was always dressed up with multiple beautiful trees decorated. Anyone that was granted the opportunity to witness her Christmas “Art”, always left captivated.
Deborah had many talents, especially cooking & baking. Her holiday cookies, especially her kolaczki & Crullers were always a popular request, she would make several dozen batches. Even at the holidays cooking up all the fixings, you never left hungry, and she would not have it any other way. She used Grandma Helen’s rule, everyone was welcome over regardless of how long she knew you but you gotta eat.
Deborah was a giver, always willing to give someone else her last dollar. In her words “Someone else always needed it more”. That is just who she was.
We spend our lives always wanting more. More hours in a day, more days in a week, more weeks in a month, more months in a year, and more years in a lifetime. Always wishing for more time. Always trying to get time back. Always looking back at time spent. Mom always told me, time waits for no one and if you don’t get busy living you get busy missing.
Mom, the world is smaller without you in it. We are all better for having had you in our lives. Your children Rachel, Shannon, Todd, Deanna and Dennis will miss our talks, the grandchildren will miss the late night UNO games. We will never forget that deep in the belly laugh that followed with your beautiful smile, of course only after you gave us that glare that burned a hole through our shirt.
You have given your children, grandchildren, friends, family so many warm and amazing memories. You have imparted wisdom and values, have shown us how to be strong when it is not easy and stuck by us all these years. We have succeeded. We have failed. We have done our best and done our worst. No one is perfect, not a single person on this planet but we move forward with hope, with life and with a dream.
Per Deborahs wishes we will share countless memories at your Celebration of Life Gathering on 11-1-2025. Your family and friends will gather to cry (even if you said not to), laugh, chuckle, make jokes, remember the good, the bad and the dumb and discuss at length why you did such a bad job hiding things in your nightstand. We shall display countless photos with you and share many thrilling tales of adventures. We shall bang on the sky before the night is over to wake you up and tell you to get your butt down here to play some UNO. We will offer you our smiles, our tears and our hearts.
Celebration of Life will be held at Dennis (Stacie) Yurkus home at 1228 Wedgewood Lane, Fond du Lac, WI.
