Donald Dobrinski

Donald Dobrinski, age 93, of Fond du Lac, WI, died peacefully at SSM Hospice Home of Hope on November 6, 2025. He quietly entered into the arms of Jesus and was joyfully reunited in heaven with his wife, Marilyn, who passed away in August of this year. Marilyn was the love of his life and throughout their 72 years of marriage, they were inseparable.

Don was born on July 2, 1932, the son of Chester and Margaret (Bastian) Dobrinski. On April 18, 1953, while on Army leave he married Marilyn Musolf at Presentation Church in North Fond du Lac.

Don was a veteran who served his country proudly. He had an immense love for his country and all patriotic causes. He saw combat on the line and later was a military policeman in the Korean War. He had special memories of being part of the Old Glory Honor Flight in September of 2016. He was accompanied by his grandson, Daniel and together they visited the Korean War Memorial in Washington DC.

Don worked at the Fond du Lac Bus Transit as a bus driver for seven years. He then worked at Mercury Marine for over thirty years as a line painter. He retired at age 62. He was a man of strong work ethic and never missed a day of work.

After retirement, Don and his wife enjoyed going on scenic bus trips, gambling at the casinos, and watching Packer and Brewer games. In earlier years, they loved to go to flea markets, shopping at antique stores, and going to their land in Wild Rose. Don also had a special talent for restoring and refinishing old pieces of furniture.

Survivors include his three daughters, Joann Dobrinski, Kathy Dobrinski, and Patty (Brian) Baier. He is also survived by one brother, Dale, as well as nieces and nephews. He cherished his two grandsons, Daniel (Mariah) Baier and Alin (Alicia) Baier. He also loved his three great grandchildren, Chloe, Zaharia, and Danny. He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Marilyn; infant brother, Junior; sister, Delores; sister-in-law, Penny; and beloved dog, Cuddles.

Don’s family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff at Hospice Home of Hope. They were his special angels here on earth and provided him with compassionate, tender care. Special recognition to be given to, Shannon, Cari, Tanya, Sherry, Mercedes, Sharon, Kelly, Sandra, and all the other caregivers who worked tirelessly to make him comfortable and who kept his spirits up. Special thank you also to a special niece, Jackie and daughter, Kathy who helped take care of Don when he lived at home.

A small graveside service will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Eden, WI with military honors, per Don’s wishes.

Don was a man of quiet strength, humble courage, strong faith in his church and country, and had a heart full of compassion. He enjoyed helping others without a thank you needed. His family will try to honor him by living out those values that were important to him. He was a light to this world and it was a better place because of his presence.

Till we meet again, Dad... you are gone, but not forgotten. You will live forever in our hearts.
