Donna M. Yanke

With grateful hearts we celebrate the life of Donna M. Yanke, age 99, of Fond du Lac. She died Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Evergreen Retirement Community in Oshkosh, leaving behind a lifetime of love, laughter, and memories that will be forever treasured. She was born on January 1, 1927, in Algoma, WI, the daughter of Wilfred and Beatrice (Wacek) Schmidt. Donna graduated in 1946 from Winnebago Lutheran Academy. On January 17, 1948, she married Robert H. Yanke Sr. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Parsonage. He preceded her in death on March 23, 1990. Donna worked at SuperValu in the bakery for 23 years until retiring in 1987. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac and was a member of the Ladies Aid. We celebrate the life of Donna was a fun-loving woman and she could always make you smile. She volunteered at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home for many years and enjoyed baking, reading, and needlework.

Survivors include her children, Robert (Maribeth) Yanke Jr, James Yanke, and Edie (John) Nieman; thirteen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren; cousin, Carol Henke; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three children, Jean Priebe, Karen Cudnohoske, and Mark Yanke.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 855 Martin Ave, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. A funeral service will follow the visitation at the church at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow the service at Ledgeview Memorial Park.
