Dorothy A. Nehls

Dorthy A. Nehls, 96, of Fond du Lac, died Monday, May 12, 2025 at Hospice Home of Hope. She was born February 16, 1929 in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Elmer and Mary (Petrie) Wempner. On September 4, 1948 she married Clayton Nehls and he preceded her in death on October 22, 1971. Dorothy enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by two children, Nancy Freund and Robert (Lynda) Nehls; grandchildren, Suzanne (Scott Boal) Janzen, Christine (Alex) Zantiny, Andrew (Krystle) Nehls, Melissa Nehls, and Emily Nehls; great grandchildren, Peter and Catherine Zantiny, Dylan Boal, and Everett Nehls; siblings, David (Donna) Wempner and Joan Plowden; sister-in-law, Mary Wempner; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, William Nehls; son-in-law, Richard Freund; siblings, Elizabeth (Glen) Grater, Donald Wempner, and James (Margaret) Wempner; and brother-in-law, David Plowden.

The visitation will be held from 9:30 – 11:00 AM on Monday, June 16, 2025 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Cremation has taken place and burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery.
