Eleanor E. Drexel

Eleanor E. Drexel, 91, formerly of 871 S. Main St. Apt #10 and currently a resident of Rolling Meadows Nursing Home entered eternal life Wednesday, May 5, 2004 at the nursing home. Eleanor was born April 5, 1913 in Fond du Lac, a daughter of William and Laura Prinslow Handke. On December 4, 1937 she married Harry Drexel at Church of Peace, where they were both life long members.Eleanor was a stay at home mother most of her married life. Together, Eleanor and Harry raised three sons, Roy, Ronald, and Wayne Drexel. Shortly after their marriage, they brought Harry's sister Jean who was three years old into their home and raised her as their own, with their three sons. Eleanor was a life long member of Church of Peace-United Church of Christ and it's Ladies Aid. Eleanor and Harry were very dedicated to their family and to each other. No matter what they did, it was always together. Their love and devotion to one another was immense.Survivors include two sons; Roy (Kay) Drexel of Wausau, Wayne (Linda) Drexel of Fond du Lac, one sister; Ruth Meyer of Colorado, one sister-in-law, Jean (Richard) Gerber of Sheboygan Falls, one nephew, David (Tee) Meyer of Colorado. Grandchildren include Jeff (Kristy) Drexel of Michigan, Laura Drexel (special friend Steve) of Aspen, CO, Jim (Lynn) Drexel of Menomonee Falls, Cheryl Drexel and Dustin Drexel of Oshkosh, Darren Weber of Eden, Jenny (Doug) Lokemoen of Merrill, Pam (Jeff) Colburn of Dousman, Steve (Tammy) Gerber of Howards Grove, Paula (Paul) Cudworth of Glenbeulah, and 13 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, one son, Ronald and one sister, Hazel.



Visitation for Mrs. Drexel will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2004 from 12:00 Noon until the time of services at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home with the Rev. Gerald Bertsch and Rev. Dr. Martin Koehler officiating. Burial will follow at Estabrook Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for the Church of Peace in Fond du Lac.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is serving the family.
