Francis A. "Ginty" Schwartz

Francis A. “Ginty” Schwartz, age 88, of Fond du Lac, died Monday, March 16, 2015 at his residence. He was born on April 1, 1926 in Fond du Lac, the son of Adolph and Edith (Shepro) Schwartz. Ginty served in the United States Navy from 1944-46. On June 21, 1947 he married Ruth Mae Anderson in Fond du Lac. He preceded him in death on February 12, 1996. Ginty worked at Combination Door until his retirement. He also worked for the Fond du Lac Rec Department as a groundskeeper for the softball diamonds and in the past at the outdoor rinks. He was a 1999 inductee into the Softball Hall of Fame. He was an avid racing fan, a Green Bay Packer fan, baseball fan, and an overall sports fan. He enjoyed playing bingo and loved Pepsi.



SURVIVORS: six children, Daniel (Phyllis) Schwartz of Fond du Lac, Derald “Hermie” Schwartz of Fond du Lac, Darlene (Kenneth) Pautsch of Fond du Lac, Darwin (Barb) Schwartz of Oshkosh, Donna Knepel of Fond du Lac, Debbie Schwartz of Fond du Lac; fifteen grandchildren; many great and great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Ruth; one son Dale; one grandson Albert Francis Pautsch; two sons in law Stephen Waltz and Harvey Knepel; his mother in law; and twelve brothers and sisters.



VISITATION: Thursday, March 19, 2015 from 10:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. FUNERAL: Thursday, March 19, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Estabrooks Cemetery.
